Tri-Labyrinth Meditation

Description

Tri-Labyrinth cut from solid pine. Approximately 10″ at the widest point. Handmade ‘universe’ marble included. Each labyrinth is carved, hand sanded, a coating of natural beeswax and oil is hand-applied and then tested for fluidity. There is a convenient divot in the center of the labyrinth to hold the marble when the labyrinth is not in use.

Labyrinths have been used for meditation and prayer for hundreds of years. The tri-labyrinth takes the traditional concept of the ‘walking labyrinth’ used for meditation and reflection into the palm of your hands. It’s beautiful, relaxing lines create a piece that is a perfect collaboration of form and function. I specifically designed this tri-labyrinth to be ‘never ending’. As the marble goes around the three loops, thoughts of how we are all connected come to mind. The fluid movement from one area to the next symbolizes how we are all connected – to each other, to the earth. The three sections of the tri-labyrinth can also be a reference to the Holy Trinity.

When using the tri-labyrinth, the challenge becomes keeping the marble along the path and takes a bit of practice and concentration. Children and adults alike find benefit from using the labyrinth in times of stress or anxiety, or as a way to recenter themselves. It’s a mindful, calming activity that can take your mind away from stressors.

The marble that is included with the tri-labyrinth is hand made by my friend, John, at Glass Phoenix, and may be different than the one pictured in this listing.
